The House of Payne
What sets us apart.
With over 40 years in the restoration business, our team has seen some of the most rare and unique vehicles ever built.
By being entrusted with these vehicles, we have developed a deep body of knowledge that goes beyond the shop manuals and service bulletins of their day. And we go even further, maintaining relationships with artisans who specialize in trades that are as rare as the vehicles themselves — porcelain coating, for example.
We combine this know-how with state-of-the-art equipment to restore parts, components and systems to like-new grade.
“We don’t chase volume. We take a small number of commissions each year and give each the obsessive attention they deserve.”

Our Promise
No shortcuts. Down to the nuts and bolts.
Proven on the world’s great lawns & rally routes
What We Do
Dedicated to the
trade.
Our capabilities cover all facets of the restoration process — from bare frame to the final road test.
01
Full Restoration
Down to the frame: each and every part is removed and renewed using factory-correct processes.
02
Restomod & Upgrades
We support a fleet of rally vehicles and travel with owners to ensure a care-free experience. Many receive modern upgrades while maintaining an all-original look.
03
Coachwork & Paint
We remove all coatings from the bodywork, align and remove imperfections, then use period-correct, high-quality paints to bring a vehicle back to its original luster.
04
Engine & Drivetrain
An in-house team dedicated to engine performance. Machined and fabricated with extreme precision, motors are blueprinted to meet or exceed factory specification.
05
Trim & Interior
Plastics, wood and metal elements are all renewed. Our partner upholsterers ensure exact material and pattern matching, fit and finish.
06
Servicing & Care
Ongoing maintenance and storage, rally-event support on request, and in-person assessments of vehicles managed by other shops.
What We Do In-House
Capabilities most shops send out.
When a part or tool can no longer be found, we make it. Every discipline lives under our roof in Rockwall, Texas.
Engine Machining
Blueprinting, boring, honing, decking and balancing in-house.
Fabrication & CNC
Metal shaping, welding and machined parts made to spec when the original can’t be bought.
3D Scanning & Printing
Scan an original, rebuild it in CAD, and print or machine the part — FDM and SLA.
Paint & Bodywork
Panel-perfect surfaces and period-correct color.
Assembly & Sorting
Built up, tuned and road-proven before delivery.
